LEON Hails NEC Replacement Process of Lost and Damaged Voter Card

August 16, 2017

Monrovia: LEON hails the replacement of lost and damaged voter cards as a success with  very few problems witnessed. However, the number of women employed by the NEC in the  process was low and LEON therefore encourages the NEC to increase efforts to recruit  female polling staff, especially at chairman and precinct supervisor levels. Additionally,  political parties and candidates were not seen observing the process and LEON calls upon  them to appoint, train and deploy party agents as soon as possible so as to increase their  understanding of the election preparations
