LEON E-Day Press Statement

Monrovia: LEON observers report that the majority of polling places observed managed to  open on time. Reasons for delays of over an hour included late arrival of materials, polling staff  or party agents. Some tensions arose from late opening that were quickly resolved. Opening  procedures were well applied in all cases

Some LEON observers have not been allowed to observe due to not receiving the correct  accreditation badge. LEON calls on the NEC to allow observers with misspelled or incorrect  accreditation badges to be allowed to observe the remainder of voting and counting in the  interest of the transparency of the process.
