Statement on Opening of Polls Montserrado District 15 By Election

Monrovia: LEON is happy that the long-awaited Montserrado Senatorial and District #15 by-elections are finally underway. LEON observers report that, despite the heavy downpour this morning, the majority of Polling Places managed to open on time.

Up to the time of going to press, there have been no reports of serious incidents but a few minor incidents have been observed. Turnout has been extremely low, possibly due to voters being confused about the final decision on the date.
