LEON Commemorates this year’s 16 Days of Activism “VAW”

LEON joins the world in commemorating this year’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence under the global theme: “Orange the World: End Violence Against Women”.

LEON sees this campaign as a universal wake-up call to all leaders in taking proactive steps in ending and eliminating all forms of “violence Against Women in Politics and leadership”. This requires collective action through policies, programs, and systematic approaches in creating an amicable environment that promotes women’s political participation and gender equality. 

The 16 Days of Activism campaign celebrated every year globally is meant for individuals and organizations to organize around the globe to call for the prevention and elimination of all forms of violence against women and girls.

In line with SDG Goal 5 and the UN Secretary-General’s UNiTE by 2030 to End Violence Against Women campaign; the calls for global actions to increase awareness, galvanize advocacy efforts, and share knowledge and innovations; LEON as an Election Observation group in Liberia joins the world in commemorating this year “16 Days of Activism and calls for concerted efforts by all actors and duty bearer to promote equal access, equal opportunity, involvement, and participation of women and girls in elections, governance, and decision-making at all levels.
