Biometric Voters’ Registration

LEON trained its 73 permanent Long-Term Observers for the observation of the
Biometric Voters’ Registration exercise; commend the NEC for the optional “Personal
Data Entry” innovation around the BVR designed to save time at the registration centers.

Election Stakeholders, fellow Liberia, Members of the press, distinguished ladies, and
gentlemen

The Liberia Elections Observation Network-LEON has trained the first 38 of its 73 permanent
Long-Term Observers for the observation of the Biometric Voters’ Registration exercise that
begins today in six of the fifteen counties. The remaining 35 of the 73 observers will be trained
in the coming days for phase two of the registration process. The BVR observation is guided
by a checklist developed against activities and or equipment mentioned by the National
Elections Commission by which the BVR process will be rolled out.
