VOTING AND CLOSING OF POLLS SITUATIONAL REPORT
LEON applauds the Liberian people for a high turnout on Election Day and commends National Elections Commission (NEC) officials for generally performing their duties in accordance with its regulations, policies, and procedures to deliver timely presidential and legislative elections.
The Liberia Elections Observation Network (LEON)[1] provides the following statement on its initial findings during observation of voting and the closing of polls during the 2023 presidential and legislative elections. The observations focused primarily on the adherence to procedures stipulated by the National Elections Commission (NEC). This post-election statement follows and updates LEON’s mid-day statement on its findings from the opening of polls around the country.
